Two rockets were fired at the Israeli city of Tel Aviv today, triggering air raid warning sirens.
Reports say that one of the rockets was intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system. People living in the area reported hearing an explosion in addition to the sirens.
The Israel Defense Forces confirmed in a tweet that two rockets were fired into Israeli territory from the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.
Israel’s Channel 10 news has said that the rockets were Iranian-made Fajr rockets. One of the rockets were intercepted and the other landed in an uninhabited area of Israel, and that there were no reports of injuries so far.
The last attack on Tel Aviv by rocket or missile was in 2014. There was no immediate claim of responsibility as of yet.
